Preview: UNC at Miami
The Heels take on the Hurricanes for the second time this season tonight in Coral Gables. UNC took care of Miami the first go-round but Miami has won six of its last eight since the meeting, including a win at Duke and a close last in its last game against Florida State.
- Junior Kenny Kadji has come alive in ACC play, leading the team in scoring since conference play began. Against UNC last month, Kadji scored 16 points against the talented UNC frontcourt. Kadji is second on the team in rebounds behind Reggie Johnson and contributes almost two blocks per as well. The 6’11” Cameroon native will have his hands full against the ACC POY front-runner Tyler Zeller.
- Although they are only scoring a combined 20 points in ACC games, the backcourt of Durand Scott and Malcolm Grant is always dangerous.
- This is how Miami ranks nationally: Scoring, 97th; Rebounds per Game, 163rd; Assists per Game, 226th; Field Goal Percentage, 155th. All these are up since the last meeting.
- This is how UNC ranks nationally: Scoring, 1st; Rebounds per Game, 1st; Assists per Game, 4th; Field Goal Percentage, 57th. Assists and FG percentage are down since the last meeting. Scoring and rebounds are still at no. one.
Miami has been playing better in ACC play but its hard to say its good enough to beat UNC.
Prediction: UNC 83, Miami 75
