Roy Williams Tie Tracker: Albany & College of Charleston
One thing all UNC fans have come to know, love and expect of Roy Williams is his fashionable selection of ties, most often courtesy of Chapel Hill outfitter Alexander Julian. The same man who put the argyle on the side of the basketball uniform is still turning heads with what he’s putting around Ol’ Roy’s neck. So, here at The Rafters we decided to pay homage to the best accesory in college hoops, if not the entire sporting world, and document every tie Roy Williams wears this season.
Again, sorry for the delay, but being down in Atlanta for the new year set me back a bit.
I guess the weather got a little too chilly outside for Ol’ Roy when the New York opponents came into town because for the first time this season we saw a black longsleeve worn.
Didn’t see any UNC logo creeps on the longsleeve like we have on other outfits of Roy, but he looked clean with the all-black look and arm sling cover.
College of Charleston:
The game may have been a debacle, but we got another first down in the “hottest city in the south.” How about Roy in a half-zip sweater vest?
To go with the sweater, a longsleeve white turtle neck that has a UNC logo on the left sleeve. My question: is this shirt made with a logo in that place, or did it get put on there just for Roy? Seems like a strange placement on a normal shirt that does not have to battle a sling. Any answers?
And even though I’d like to see them back on the floor, don’t Marcus and Will look nice? Even the commentator made a comment about how well dressed the UNC team is as a whole.
