Roy Williams Tie Tracker: Georgia Tech

One thing all UNC fans have come to know, love and expect of Roy Williams is his fashionable selection of ties, most often courtesy of Chapel Hill outfitter Alexander Julian. The same man who put the argyle on the side of the basketball uniform is still turning heads with what he’s putting around Ol’ Roy’s neck. So, here at The Rafters we decided to pay homage to the best accesory in college hoops, if not the entire sporting world, and document every tie Roy Williams wears this season.

Seems to be that Roy was searching for some answers before Saturday’s game against ACC foe Georgia Tech and went to his closet for answers. Roy pulled out the 2009 National Championship tie for the game although the outcome wasn’t quite the same.

Above is obviously a picture from last year’s title game. But it is clear that this is the same tie design from yesterday.

To go with the toned-down-in-comparison-to-Wednesday’s tie, Roy was of course sporting a pocket square and what seems to be his go to suit style, pinstriped.

Can’t really tell what color the pocket square is, but I would guess blue to match the tie, as he also wore a blue pocket square in last year’s title game.

If you’d like your own tie, you can call Julian’s to order one. Besides yesterday’s game, I say it’s a good investment. Very sharp.
