Roy Williams Tie Tracker: Minnesota
One thing all UNC fans have come to know, love and expect of Roy Williams is his fashionable selection of ties, most often courtesy of Chapel Hill outfitter Alexander Julian. The same man who put the argyle on the side of the basketball uniform is still turning heads with what he’s putting around Ol’ Roy’s neck. So, here at The Rafters we decided to pay homage to the best accesory in college hoops, if not the entire sporting world, and document every tie Roy Williams wears this season.
There’s not a lot of good things to say about last night’s performance, and unfortunately, not a lot to report in the wardrobe department either. Roy changed his golf course ready polo to a striped number, still complete with the interlocking NC on the left chest.
If you remember though, we brought up Roy’s bracelet yesterday, thinking that it may be a Phiten branded accessory. Last night while the Rafters was sulking, we noticed this on a member of the cohort.
Where we had reservations yesterday because Roy’s bracelet didn’t look like a Phiten, this Power Balance bracelet is a dead ringer. Checking the Power Balance website we found the all-white model Roy seems to be sporting.
Like we guessed, the Power Balance promises to center and balance wearers and is endorsed by athletes such as Shaq, Shane Victorino, Lamar Odom, Derrick Rose, Brandon Jennings, Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford and a bunch of other athletes that paddleboard and stuff. Here’s a link to a video on how to test the product. Our buddy says it works when he’s exercising. We’ll take his word on it.
